3 Easy-to-Execute Baby Shower Games
Paperia | February 2015
Throwing a baby shower? Here are some great, simple baby shower games you can pull together in a snap! Baby shower games are wonderful icebreakers and allow guests from different sides of the family and various groups of friends to enjoy each other’s company for the afternoon!
“Forbidden Baby”
Give each guest a diaper pin or sticker when they arrive – something that they can wear visibly on their clothing. Notify everyone that saying the word “baby” is off limits. When a guest catches another person saying “baby,” they get to take their pin. Some will be very good at refraining from saying “baby,” and others will be good at noticing and calling out others who do. At the end of the party, whoever is wearing the most pins, wins!
“Mommy Telephone”
Assemble guests in a circle or line. Ask a volunteer guest to think of their best parenting tip and whisper it to the person next to them. This will continue in “whisper down the lane” style and conclude with the mother-to-be. She will announce the tip to the group, and since it’s sure to be jumbled, the crowd will get a good laugh! Since there’s no clear “winner” in this game, give the volunteer who came up with the tip the prize.
“Hot Potato Baby”
Bring a baby doll and have guests sit in a circle. Pass the doll around the circle and set an egg timer to go off at various intervals. Each time the timer rings, the guest holding the baby is out, and leaves the circle. The circle will continue to dwindle, and the last woman left, wins!
Don’t forget to pick up a couple of prizes for the winners! Some good options include: a scented candle, hand lotion, manicure kit, or coffee sampler.
