13 Things to Know About Working With Me

First and foremost, I don’t consider ordering your wedding invitation to be “work” – for me it is always fun! But I know that sometimes it can feel like work, and even be overwhelming at times. After all, there are endless options and possibilities to find the perfect piece!

I am here to make the process as easy, seamless and stress-free as possible.

I’ve done this work for 20 years and I have a wealth of experience working with a huge variety of couples. I’ve worked with couples who know exactly what they want, couples who have no idea what they want, and everyone in between.

I will guide you through each step in the process and the project isn’t done until you’re totally thrilled with the final product. In fact, I hope that ordering your invitations is ultimately the most fun part of your planning!

Here are 13 things to know about working with The Paperia to create your dream wedding invitation:

1. I love working with new customers and I want to get to know you.

I always aim to provide warm, collaborative experiences that build trust and excitement.

2. You don’t have to know exactly what you want!

In fact, many couples don’t. I will show you a bunch of options and lookbooks during our first meeting, and it’ll help you figure out more of what you’re looking for.

3. Your choice may be completely different from what you thought you wanted.

And that’s ok! You’ll refine your taste and vision throughout the process, especially once you see all the possibilities and begin weighing which pieces are most important for you.

4. You can do anything you want except having misspellings and grammatical errors.

We will proofread many times, then proofread some more!

5. There are no wrong choices.

Say it again! The perfect wedding invitation looks different for every couple, and every wedding is unique. Together we’ll find the perfect product for you!

6. The choice is yours, not anyone else’s.

You’re in the driver’s seat. I’ll never let my opinions cloud your judgment, and if possible, you shouldn’t let anyone else’s input drive your ultimate decisions.

7. I will absolutely give you my opinion if you want it!

I’ll never let my opinions cloud your judgment, but if you ask for my input I will happily provide it!

8. The invite doesn’t have to reflect the venue style.

And…

9. The invite colors don’t have to match your wedding colors.

These two are biggies. You don’t have to have the whole thing set in stone, it’s more important that you love the final product and it helps set the tone for your wedding ceremony and reception.

10. The envelope is the first thing your guests see.

Some additional things you might consider as we go through this process: hand calligraphy for addressing your envelopes, coordinating graphics throughout your printed pieces, and envelope linings to protect and enhance your invitation.

11. The invite should be season-appropriate.

We’ll figure this out together to make sure your wedding invitation feels right for the season, while still representing you as a couple and setting the tone for your wedding.

12. Your guests do not need to know exactly what they will be eating.

The wedding invitation is about you as a couple, inviting important people in your lives to celebrate your commitment to each other. Though it may be tempting, your guests don’t need to know the fine print details of the party at this phase.

13. I learn something new every day, and it’s often from my customers.

I look forward to learning something from you!
